Detail of etchings - Judd used a double-line
instead of a single-line.  Although the
viewer reads these as single lines, the
planes of the box never meet and the
images are not true boxes.

Donald Judd
Untitled, # 84 & 86, 1974
Aquatint, edition of 70
Judd created two series of parallelograms: a series of 3 (83-85) in 1974 and a larger series in
1978-79.  The initial edition differs in the following ways.  The central image - the parallelogram is
slightly smaller and is solid black.  The later series is slightly speckled.  In addition, the early series
was a smaller edition. It clearly served as a prototype for the later work.
