Eric Tillinghast has been creating sculptural pieces from steel and other metals. His primary interest has been to
incorporate water as a living element of his work. Water has many qualities, including reflecting light. The meniscus or
curvature of the liquid is obvious in many of his still water pieces.
These living pieces must be watered by the collector as the liquid evaporates. This results in a participatory connection
with the sculpture that is very different from most pieces. The pieces, however, are beautifully finished even if the
channels are empty.
